Animal Crossing New Horizons: Tips For Toy Day!
Today is Toy Day in Animal Crossing New Horizons! Here’s a guide on how to complete it:
Step 1: Getting Started
To get started, find the reindeer character named Jingle. He should be wandering around your town’s plaza. He will give you a DIY for festive wrapping paper (This is different from the kinds sold at Nooks). Festive wrapping paper costs 1 red, 1 blue, and 1 gold ornament to make, and Jingle asks for 3 festive wrapping papers initially. If you aren’t familiar with how to get ornaments, you need to shake the cedar trees in your town. Obtaining ornaments works like branches, where you can shake the same tree over and over to get as many as you need (as long as you have at least 1 cedar tree in town). Once you have enough ornaments, craft 3 festive wrapping papers and return to Jingle at the plaza. After you hand them over, Jingle will reward you with Toy Day stockings and tells you to hand them in your home tonight (presumably for more rewards tomorrow).
Step 2: Help Jingle Deliver Toy Day Presents
After receiving the reward from step and agreeing to help Jingle deliver Toy Day presents, he will let your character hold a “Magic Bag.” He asks you to visit all the people in town while holding the magic bag (equipped automatically). The Magic Bag is an item in your inventory and counts as a tool, so you can un-equip and re-equip it as needed. Jingle gives you until 5 a.m. to deliver the gifts, which is a ton of time for a job this simple. Walk around and search out all your townspeople one by one and give them a gift (it is automatically generated, and not something you have to buy or prepare ahead of time). Most of your villagers will likely be outside, but they can be in their homes as well. Villagers who like you a lot will give you a gift in return after you give them theirs. If you can’t remember who you have left to give presents to, clicking on the bag in your inventory will give you the “look inside” option, and it will tell you who still needs a present.
Make sure to talk to Jingle again after you have delivered a present to every one of the villagers in your town. Jingle will reward you with a DIY for a Gift Pile and a Toy Day Sleigh item (Sleigh is not a DIY). (Gift pile costs 3 red wrapping paper, 1 wooden-block toy, and 1 cardboard box to make).
Step 3: Remember to Hang Your Stocking!:
Make sure to hang the Toy Day Stockings Jingle gave you on the wall in your home! It will give you Jingle’s photo tomorrow (Christmas day).
