Rune Factory 5 New Japanese Trailer Released Today!

The new Japanese Rune Factory 5 trailer gives us a few insights into the game. Part beast, part human characters are back along with a look at some more complex dungeon traps. Monster catching has some new (and much needed) changes that look more exciting than ever. The trailer also gave us a look at fire snake who will likely be a boss and some characters who look like bad guys. Here’s a look at the new trailer:

My predictions for the story (based on what I’ve seen in trailers) so far are:

• Main character finds themself on the back of a flying dragon island where the main town is located (likely an amnesia scenario as always).

• Main character joins, or works with, the town guard to protect the land/dragon (they look like some group of para-military forest rangers).

• There will be a rich bad guy from another nation who is using the power of the earthmates to control/ summon monsters in areas under the town guard’s protection.

• There will be a higher up within the town guard organization who is secretly evil and helping the other nation get access to (and cause trouble in ) the lands they control.

So far it looks good! I just hope some of the cliche characters have depth!
