Triangle Strategy Release Date: March 4, 2022

The Triangle Strategy game still doesn’t have a proper title, but it does appear to be getting slightly better with the recent changes (the ability to change the camera angle, etc.). The September 23rd Nintendo Direct seemed to indicate the game will be story focused, which is a welcome change of pace. The fundamental gameplay and graphics still look very basic at this point so, without a good story, the game will likely be bad. A new strategy RPG was a great idea, but it just looks like this game was rushed. It appears to have voice acting and a story that changes based on your decisions in game. My guess is the choices that have a substantial impact on the plot will be limited, but there will be numerous smaller choices that will determine things like which characters join your party as deployable units. I expect the game to be short, content wise, but it seems Square Enix still plans to charge 59.99 for it. It really seems like it should be a 29.99 game from the looks of it it. There aren’t many strategy RPGs being released these days, so there aren’t a lot of good options if you enjoy the game play style. I don’t think the price tag will be worth it and Square Enix will jump at the chance to charge for DLC on a mediocre game, but I hope I’m wrong.

Triangle Strategy will be released on March 4, 2022 (unless it gets pushed back of course).
